Challenge Space: The Impact of Agentic AI on Small to Medium Businesses
How might we enable Australia’s Small & Medium Business retailers to thrive in an AI mediated future where AI agents—not consumers—make the decisions?
The biggest threat to small businesses in an increasingly AI-automated world is the digital monopolisation of big businesses. What better way to demonstrate that then through a game of monopoly?
'Commonopoly: The Game Show' takes audiences on a journey through a monopoly-inspired game that pits the One Big Guy (Monopoly Man) against Three Little Guys (Local Businesses).
Our goal, as a team, was to demonstrate to audiences; the value of local business as social capital, differing attitudes towards AI, the potential dangers of monopolisation, and the value of our solution - LocAi.
LocAi is your smart local guide built directly into the navigation apps you already use. Instead of pushing you toward the same big chains (e.g. Woolworths), it taps into your habits and location data to uncover small businesses (e.g. Maloney's Grocer) you’ll genuinely love.
By creating hyperlocal networks of cafés, shops, and experiences, LocAI makes exploring your community effortless, personalised, and fun, while giving local retailers the visibility they deserve. With strategic partnerships and a scalable rollout model, LocAi helps communities thrive one discovery at a time.
