PULSE:
portraits of the dancing spirit
portraits of the dancing spirit
‘PULSE: portraits of the dancing spirit’ is a (hypothetical) experimental documentary following the ins and outs of a popular house dance class hosted in Osaka, Japan. The film dives into the elements that make the class so sacred – the physical studio, the teacher, the students – and it begs the question: what keeps them coming back?
‘PULSE’ explores notions of identity, freedom and expression in a way never done before. Positioning the class as a microcosm of broader society, the film also offers a unique view on the pulse of Japanese culture as well.
